Over the years, he has opened and played with many blues greats such as; James Cotton, Snooky Pryor, Homesick James, Little Sammie Davis, Bo Diddley Jr, Deborah Coleman, Johnny Charles, Slam Allen, and Filthy Rich, to name a few. Brian is also featured on a Silk City release called “Standing Room Only,“ which is still available on CD. In 2007, he collaborated and completed an original album called “Ghost Notes” with Scott Cartagena of the Flight of Time band, available on CD Baby. Brian started his first band with long time friend and bassist, Gary Truelove. Now, years later they still have a dynamic chemistry that is original and unique. In 2005, they worked together again to form, “The Brian Dougherty Band.” As Brian brings a blues-rock style to the classics, Gary's bass lines are solid, steady and in the pocket. Shortly after, drummer, Jim Heimbuch joined to form a solid high energy trio. Over the years, Jim has played rock, blues, and jazz. In 2008, the band added a new lead vocalist Rosie Berlinghof. She brings a strong soulful voice to the classics which include Janis Joplin, Melissa Ethridge, Sheryl Crow and Chrissy Hines. The songs they play are the great classics that bring back great memories and will get you up dancing. Some of the bands they cover are; The Doors, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Allman Bros, CCR, Eric Clapton, Journey and Neil Young. The Brian Dougherty Band is currently scheduled to play many venues around the tri-state area. For more information, please go to www.myspace.com/briandoughertyband or Facebook. |
